Fly fishing is a relaxing and enjoyable sport that anyone can learn.  It's easy to do and it's no more expensive than most other kinds of fishing.  We're a group of enthusiastic people who love two things - fishing with a fly, and sharing our sport with others.  If you've ever thought of taking up fly fishing, we'd be pleased to help you learn how.

Here's what the MFFA offers:

Weekly Meetings (Activities) every Tuesday evening from early January until fishing season opens and then again in September and October.  Using club equipment you can quickly learn fly tying, fly casting and the basics of fly fishing strategy.

We'll bring in specialists to teach you about stream entomology, sports fishery management and advanced fly fishing techniques.

Newsletters- six issues per year.  Filled with fly fishing information relevant to Manitoba and beyond.

Take advantage of Fly Fishing Outings we arrange each season for club members.  Let us take you to some of Manitoba's best places to fish with a fly.

Be part of a group that's committed to Habitat Enhancement.  We help improve Manitoba's sport fishery with "boots on" projects.

Use our Cabin in the Duck Mountains as a base camp for fly fishing in one of the most beautiful areas in the province.  The cabin is available to all club members.

Borrow Videos and Books at no charge from our lending library.  Learn basic and advanced techniques from the world's masters -- Lefty Kreh, Swisher and Richards, Dave Whitlock and others -- as they reveal to you the secrets of their success.

Discounts – Club members receive a 10% discount on purchases from The Fishin Hole & Northern Angler.

One of the great events of the year is the clubs Annual Banquet.  Held last year (and probably this year as well) at the Voyageur Dining Room at Red River College, it was a huge success with great times had by all. Prizes included a special 40th anniversary painting by Don McMaster.
